Mindfulness by definition is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, which is used as a therapeutic technique in the management of stress and a number of mental illnesses.

At one point of our life’s, being mindful was something we did naturally and automatically. When we were children, our awareness usually centered around only one specific “tense” – the present tense. As kids, our attention was centered around physical sensations, thoughts and acts in the present, the future did not bother us, nor did the past. Mindfulness is basically just that, returning to childlike curious awareness of what is happening inside and around us, and not letting automatic thoughts lead us to where we did not want to be. Here is a short introduction into mindfulness and a short 3 week mindfulness workbook.
