Have you watched the movie limitless, wherein Bradley Cooper consumes a magical pill (NZT-48) which boosts his brain and makes him instantly smarter, more focused and brim with productivity? Well, what would you do if you had access to NZT-48?
If you live on planet earth and use the internet like most of its inhabitants you may have come across the term “smart drugs”. Smart drugs are somewhat a nickname for a class of substances termed nootropics. Nootropics are however not as powerful as what’s depicted in the movie. Though they may be able to give you an edge., they may not make you a number crunching, genius, millionaire entrepreneur.
What are Nootropics?
Nootropics are drugs, supplements, or other substances that improve cognitive function, particularly executive functions, memory, creativity, or motivation, in healthy individuals. The medications and supplements we discuss here may not have the intense effects of NZT-48, but do have some sort of scientific backing in terms of improving cognition and delaying brain damage. Also, we aren’t talking about illicit drugs here, not about the amphetamines, cocaine or marijuana. we only discuss medications which have minimal or no propensity to cause any form of biopsychosocial damage.
