Here are a few apps that I have use and like, you can start here and then explore and find your own.

1. OneNote (Android, iOS, Windows, Mac): This versatile note-taking powerhouse goes beyond basic scribbles. Create separate notebooks for different projects, hobbies, or even maintain a personal journal. OneNote excels at organization, allowing you to categorize notes, add images and audio recordings, and search effortlessly with its robust search function. Plus, seamless syncing across devices ensures your notes are always with you .

2. Google Keep (Android, iOS, Web): For quick ideas, fleeting reminders, or grocery lists, Google Keep shines. This user-friendly app lets you jot down quick notes, create checklists, and even add images or voice recordings. Color-coding and labeling capabilities keep things organized, while reminders ensure you never miss a beat. Keep is perfect for capturing those fleeting thoughts before they vanish .

3. Stock Reminders (Android, iOS): Sometimes, the simplest tools are the most effective. Built-in reminders on your phone are a fantastic way to stay on top of appointments, deadlines, or even medication schedules. The ability to set one-time or recurring reminders, along with location-based triggers (like reminding you to buy milk when you enter the grocery store), make these reminders a powerful tool for managing your day-to-day. I love Siri and the google assistant, both of them make it easy to set reminders.

4. NYU Mobile CREATE apps (Android, iOS): CrushStations, Gwakkamole and All You Can ET, these three apps are available for free and help with working memory, inhibitory control and cognitive flexibility respectively.

5. Dual N-Back (Android, iOS): This app takes brain training to the next level. Dual N-Back challenges your working memory and fluid intelligence by presenting a sequence of auditory or visual stimuli. You need to recall stimuli presented a specific number of steps back in the sequence (hence the N). Studies suggest that Dual N-Back training can improve working memory and cognitive function . Lots of free options available on app store and play store.

6. Smiling Mind (Android, iOS): While not specifically designed for ADD, mindfulness apps like Smiling Mind can be incredibly helpful. Mindfulness practices can help improve focus, reduce stress, and enhance emotional regulation – all valuable tools for managing ADD. Smiling Mind offers guided meditations, breathing exercises, and educational resources to help you cultivate mindfulness in your daily life.

Medito(Android,iOS):Medito Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to improving mental wellbeing and helping people cope better with depression, stress, anxiety, and any other negative states of mind. Medito also offers guided meditations, breathing exercises, and educational resources to help you cultivate mindfulness in your daily life.

7. Strava (Android, iOS, Web): Staying physically active is crucial for overall well-being, and particularly beneficial for those with ADD. Strava, a fitness tracking app, can help you stay motivated with running, cycling, swimming, or even just a brisk walk. Track your workouts, compete with friends virtually, and celebrate your achievements. Physical activity can improve focus, reduce stress, and boost mood – all factors that contribute to managing ADD .

8.Pomofocus.io: This website offers a free Pomodoro timer, a time management technique that breaks down work into focused intervals separated by short breaks. Pomofocus is a customizable pomodoro timer that works on desktop & mobile browser. The aim of this app is to help you focus on any task you are working on.

Remember, the real world is your training ground

These apps are fantastic tools, but don’t forget that the real training happens in the real world. While brain training apps can provide a structured environment to hone specific skills, applying these skills in your daily life is crucial.
