What is the third tactic to prevent premature ejaculation ?

Numb the stimulation

Using thicker condoms –  Try these during the first few encounters to reduce the sensitivity of your penis, they can thus prevent premature ejaculation and reduce the anxiety toward future experiences.

EMLA cream and topical anesthetics – EMLA Cream (lidocaine 2.5% and prilocaine 2.5%) is an emulsion in which the oil phase is a eutectic mixture of lidocaine and prilocaine in a ratio of 1:1 by weight. It can help numb the sensation over the penile skin and delay orgasm. Some men have found this effective in managing premature ejaculation.

A doctor can prescribe –

Antidepressants. A side effect of certain antidepressants is delayed orgasm. SSRI’s may be prescribed for this particular reason.

Modafinil has been effectively used in a small subset of patients.

A few practioners also prescribe PDE-5 inhibitors (sildenafil, tadalafil) , but the efficacy in terms of controlling premature ejaculation is questionable. Pelvic floor exercises can also help in improving sexual performance.

Communication

Indulging in foreplay longer can help increase sexual satisfaction  as well as delay your ejaculation. A longer foreplay will improve your relationship ,reduce dissatisfaction, remove frustration and performance-related anxiety.

The more pressure men feel during sex, the more likely that premature ejaculation is likely to occur. Communication, compassion and coitus go hand in hand and fear and anxiety has no role in the same.
